Shelby, MT (Conrad, Choteau, Cut Bank) — The Leavitt Group and Northern Montana Insurance Services, Inc. (dba Montana Insurance Services) purchased insurance offices from Payne Financial Group. Pat Greany and Gordon Smedsrud are the local managers and co-owners of Montana Insurance Services, which is comprised of offices in Shelby (former Turner Agency), Cut Bank (former Montana International Agency), Conrad (former Conrad Agency) and Choteau (former Westmont Agency).
Greany and Smedsrud have been active in all four offices under Payne Financial Group. They and the staff in these offices will remain the same and look forward to continuing to serve their clients. Montana Insurance Services began as four independent insurance agencies three generations ago. The agency provides all types of personal and commercial insurance products to clients, including property and casualty coverage and life and health.
“We look forward to the ownership opportunity the Leavitt Group has extended to us,” says Pat Greany. “We will continue to provide the service our small town agencies take pride in.”
“Through our affiliation with the Leavitt Group, we will have access to additional insurance markets and other support for our agency,” says Smedsrud. “This will ultimately make us more competitive and allow us to better serve clients.
“Greany received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) in 1988 and has 29 years of experience in the insurance industry. Greany operated his own agency before joining Montana International, which merged with Payne Financial Group in 2000.
Smedsrud has been in the insurance industry for 14 years, and he received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) in 1998. He has been with the agency through mergers and acquisitions involving all four locations, culminating in this affiliation with the Leavitt Group.
