Heidi Sterner, account manager for Leavitt Group Benefits Services, recently received the State Legislative Achievement Award at the National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU) 28th Annual Capitol Conference in Washington, DC.
Sterner was recognized for having made significant contributions and performing outstanding service in connection with state legislative matters, by developing and implementing methods to strengthen and improve NAHU’s stance in the industry.
“The leadership of NAHU members has a far-reaching impact on providing for the healthcare needs of individuals, families, and businesses in their communities. We are grateful for Heidi’s dedication to legislative achievements and recognize her for those efforts with this well-deserved award,” said NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein.
Sterner has held various positions within NAHU, including Clark County AHU (CCAHU) Past President and is the current Legislative Chair for CCAHU and Nevada AHU, NAHU Region VIII Legislative Chair, and is a member of the NAHU Legislative Council. Sterner has been a licensed insurance producer for more than 20 years and is a 20+ resident of Clark County.
“The judges felt that Heidi exemplifies the dedication to providing the best opportunities for our members through our focus on legislative achievements,” said Jeremy Shugarman, president of Clark County AHU. “This past year and beyond, Heidi organized candidate meet and greets in our local community, collaboration with agent industry groups, grassroots advocacy alerts as part of our communications efforts and hosted legislative meetings to further our members’ educational efforts. These projects and many others have set a standard of excellence in the health insurance industry that we are proud to represent.”
