Keeping employee benefits costs at an affordable level while also attracting and retaining top employees is a challenge for many employers. To offset the increasing cost burden on employees and encourage wise healthcare consumption, many programs are now offering additional benefits including online doctors/nurses, wellness programs, voluntary benefits, prescription savings, and more. While these additions offer great benefits for employees, they are often overwhelming to keep track of and ultimately underutilized.

HealthJoy, an employee guidance platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help employees make better healthcare decisions, has tackled these challenges by developing a communication platform with chatbot technology. GBS Benefits, a Salt Lake City-based insurance and employee benefits firm, has announced their distribution partnership agreement with HealthJoy. This partnership will help clients lower their healthcare costs, simplify benefits administration, and improve employee satisfaction.

“We’re extremely excited to offer HealthJoy to our clients and encourage them to add it to their benefits offering,” said Rick Fielding, CEO, and founder of GBS Benefits, Inc. “In the last ten years, employee expectations have changed drastically. We live in an on-demand world and employees want personalized healthcare guidance anytime, anywhere, right from their mobile phone.”

HealthJoy’s mission is to help employees make better healthcare decisions. Their easy-to-use app brings together healthcare advocates, online doctor consultations, Rx savings, and other cost containment strategies into a single platform. At the center of the experience is an AI-powered virtual assistant that helps employees with all their needs. For companies, HealthJoy increases satisfaction with existing employee benefits while reducing healthcare costs. The app also reduces the amount of administration time that a company needs to dedicate to managing their benefits.

“For nearly 30 years, GBS Benefits has been delivering exceptional service and cost-saving strategies to their clients,” said Doug Morse-Schindler, president and co-founder of HealthJoy. “Their primary goal is to improve the lives of employees while delivering strategies that contain healthcare spend. They are the leaders in their market, and we are excited to partner with such a forward-thinking employee benefits consulting firm.”
