Duck Creek, UT – Dixie Leavitt Insurance Agency and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company awarded a $5,000 grant to the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District to pay for new pagers for each volunteer firefighter.
Pagers remain the most efficient way to contact volunteer firefighters when an emergency strikes. The Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District will receive ten new Motorola Minitor V pagers, to be provided to the district’s volunteers. These pagers will replace pagers that are about six years old, giving the district the most current model for contacting volunteers.
“These pagers will help us contact our team the moment we need them,” said Chief Ken Johnson. “We depend on our volunteers, and this increases our ability to contact them. We thank the Dixie Leavitt Insurance Agency and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company for thinking of us.”
Chief Johnson, Cedar Mountain firefighters, and representatives of Dixie Leavitt Agency and Fireman’s Fund® came together for a special presentation event where the grant was presented.
The grant package is part of a nationwide program called Fireman’s Fund HeritageSM which is funded by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. The program is designed to provide needed equipment, training and educational tools to local fire departments. Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has issued grants to hundreds of different departments totaling more than $11 million. Independent insurance agencies that sell Fireman’s Fund products are able to direct these grants to support fire stations in their communities. The Dixie Leavitt Agency was instrumental in directing this specific grant to Cedar Mountain.
