Cedar City, UT – The Sandra L. Maxwell Cancer Center opened ahead of schedule thanks to many generous donations from Leavitt Group employees and others in the southern Utah community. The Leavitt Group was honored to be a part of the capital campaign and matched employee contributions dollar for dollar. Many participating employees have been contributing the equivalent of one hour each month from their paychecks to the campaign since July 2004.
The Leavitt Group was able to name the center after a long-time employee and cancer survivor, Sandra Maxwell. Sandra has worked for the Leavitt Group for 37 years and is currently battling a progressive bone marrow disease. Sandra accepted the assignment to lead the capital campaign for the Leavitt Group, and was later surprised and touched when the Leavitt Group announced it would name the building after her.
“Clearly, this was a great opportunity to collectively accomplish something that transcends our daily work,” says Dane Leavitt, CEO. The Leavitt Group hopes to complete the capital campaign this year, two and a half years before the initial July 2009 target date.
