As artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies continue to reshape the insurance industry, Leavitt Group is expanding resources to help affiliated agencies evaluate and implement new tools across their operations. The effort reflects a growing challenge for independent agency owners, who must navigate an increasingly complex technology landscape while continuing to serve clients, support employees, and manage their businesses.
Technology has long been part of the support Leavitt Group provides to affiliated agencies. As new AI and technology solutions enter the market, the organization is increasing its investment in technology assessment and operational integration.
“Agency owners are hearing about new AI and technology solutions almost every day,” said Joe Callister, chief operating officer at Leavitt Group. “Our goal is to help them identify the tools that can provide meaningful value, integrate them thoughtfully into their operations, and allow their teams to stay focused on serving clients.”
To support that effort, Leavitt Group has appointed Laurie Flanagan as chief innovation officer. She will work with teams across the organization to identify, evaluate, and implement practical uses for AI and other technologies that support agency operations and employee productivity.
Flanagan will also serve as the primary liaison for Leavitt Group’s partnership in BrokerTech Ventures, a network that connects insurance leaders and technology companies to explore emerging technologies and industry trends. Through that involvement, Leavitt Group gains insight into new tools and how insurance organizations are applying technology to operational and client service challenges.
“Being engaged in those conversations helps us better understand where technology is creating value and where agencies continue to face obstacles,” said Flanagan. “The opportunity is finding practical applications that improve how agencies work while keeping people at the center of the client experience.”
Flanagan and Callister recently attended BrokerTech Connect in Chicago, where insurance professionals and technology companies gathered to discuss issues affecting the future of the industry.
During the conference, Callister participated in a panel examining operational challenges that can emerge during insurance brokerage acquisitions, including technology integration, financial processes, carrier relationships, and post-acquisition planning. The discussion highlighted the increasing role technology plays in supporting growth and operational efficiency across agency organizations.
Leavitt Group is evaluating AI tools that support both operational and client-facing teams. The organization is focused on using technology to give employees more time to help clients evaluate options and make informed decisions.
