Leavitt Group, a national insurance brokerage, recently partnered with Operation Conquer Hunger to package meals for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity during the Leavitt Group Partners Conference in Salt Lake City.
Insurance agency co-owners and leaders from across Leavitt Group’s network packaged 69,384 meals during the service project, supporting local hunger relief efforts.
“We are incredibly grateful for Leavitt Group’s partnership and the impact their team made during this service project,” said Cheryle Mounteer, director of Operation Conquer Hunger. “Together, we helped provide nearly 70,000 meals to those in need.”
The meal-packing event was conducted through Operation Conquer Hunger, an initiative supported by Utah-based health and wellness company MTN OPS.
Mounteer said the meals will be distributed to individuals and families in the Salt Lake area through Operation Conquer Hunger’s community partnerships.
The project was organized through Leavitt Engage, Leavitt Group’s employee volunteer and community involvement program, which supports service opportunities in communities where Leavitt Group agencies operate.
“When we plan our annual Partners Conference, we’re intentional about creating opportunities not only for learning and collaboration, but also for service,” said Brooke MacNaughtan, chief people and community officer at Leavitt Group. “Serving stakeholders is one of Leavitt Group’s seven governing principles. While this event brings agency co-owners together to discuss industry trends and share ideas, giving back is also an important part of our culture and our commitment to the communities we serve.”
Operation Conquer Hunger is an initiative of MTN OPS focused on addressing food insecurity through meal-packing events, community partnerships, and meal donations. The program works with businesses, volunteers, charitable organizations, and community partners to provide meals to individuals and families in need. For every order placed at MTNOPS.com, a nutritious meal is prepared and provided to a family in need. To date, the Conquer Hunger initiative has donated over 11,500,000 meals.
