Briggs-Yardley-Leavitt Insurance Agency recently contributed to a project dedicated to helping an orphanage gain access to clean water in Burkina Faso, Africa. Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world, and children from the orphanage currently walk five hours every day to get water. Funds for this project have been primarily generated by selling donated used shoes. Briggs-Yardley-Leavitt Insurance Agency donated $500 towards the project, which will go directly towards a well for the orphanage.
“Knowing we can help sustain life with a small contribution makes me feel good,” said Debra Yardley, co-owner of Briggs-Yardley-Leavitt Insurance Agency. “It’s important to try and be aware of the needs of others, even if they are around the world. If we can do anything, even in a small way to help someone’s life be better, I’m all for it.”
